Original Cyns is a local boutique in downtown Burlington, Iowa. During my time here I was able to have a hand in countless aspects of the business. These included customer service, visual merchandising, buying, ecommerce and event planning.
Cynapalooza
This is an annual event that takes place in the summer where families get together for games, food and the much-anticipated wiener dog races. This event is not only fun for those involved, but also raises money and awareness for the community animal shelter. While interning here I was able to spearhead this event and handle all aspects involved in its success including logistics planning, city approvals, partnerships, donations and raffle items, securing entertainment and marketing and publicity.
Community Book Drive
Another community event I played an integral role in was the city-wide book drive, Read-A-Book. Here we donated 1,000+ new and gently used books to the various elementary schools in our community. I was responsible for marketing this event, securing partnerships, and collecting and distributing all donated books.
Ecommerce
In this role I was responsible for organizing, styling, photographing and uploading merchandise for the boutique’s website.
